Angela Dunning has been classically trained on the violin since age five. While she is proficient on several instruments, violin is her first love. The youngest member of WIP has already played with several professional orchestras throughout southestern Michigan, and has led a professional string quartet. She recently graduated with a degree in performance from Eastern Michigan University where she served as concertmaster for the university orchestra. In addition to WIP, she is also performing with the Macomb Symphony Orchestra. Affectionately called "The Ear" by WIP, Angela makes Oscar (her 1933 German violin) sing heartfelt accompaniment to just about any song thrown at her, regardless of style, and usually without written music. Whether playing a violin concerto from memory or improvising a harmonic interlude, the skill and emotion with which she plays have left many a listener slack-jawed and misty-eyed.
